What is a custom home?

A custom home is a unique, one-of-a-kind dream home. It is designed and constructed by architects and builders working together to create the client’s vision on a specific piece of land, never to be duplicated again. Many people confuse a custom home with a spec home, a model home, or tract/production housing in which different options can be chosen, but these examples are not true custom homes. And just because a builder is local, or not part of a national group, does not mean that builder is a custom builder.
