Carlton Commercial Awarded Repeat Gordon Chevrolet Work

Two years ago our blog featured the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Gordon Chevrolet dealership renovation. Carlton Construction completed the 10,000-square-foot facility enhancement project in just 18 weeks, all while the dealership remained open and fully operational. Now, in a case of repeat business, Gordon Chevrolet also awarded Carlton the contract for a new customer lounge.

Due to brisk sales and buyers taking advantage of GM’s new car maintenance programs, Gordon found itself in need of additional, comfortable waiting space for its customers. Carlton has just added 1,400 square feet of interior space to the east side of the current building, including a lounge, a children’s play area, a refreshment center and vending area.

Clint Thomas, Vice President of Carlton Construction’s Commercial Division, said, “Just like Gordon’s fine reputation and GM warranty programs make for repeat car buyers, I’m glad that our fine work on that original project helped lead to this repeat business for Carlton Construction.”

Gordon Chevrolet is located at 1166 Blanding Boulevard in Orange Park, Florida. The dealership offers a wide selection of new Chevy vehicles and dependable used cars, as well as service, parts and a body shop.

Carlton Construction Tapped for Nocatee Amenities

Carlton Construction is proud to be providing construction services for amenities at select communities in Nocatee. Located in Ponte Vedra, Florida, Nocatee has been ranked as the third best-selling, master-planned community in the nation. Our most recent project has been at Cypress Trails, a Nocatee community of one- and two-story single-family homes ranging from 1,750 to 3,384 square feet of living space on large lots, many with lake or preserve views.

Carlton’s amenity facilities work for Cypress Park at Cypress Trails includes a spacious clubhouse with both covered and open-air pavilions; resort-style pool with shallow-entry for the family as well as lap lanes for dedicated swimmers; a huge playground with multiple play areas; and a trail surrounding a designated dog park and large event lawn with a bandstand.

Next up for Carlton will be Nocatee’s Twenty Mile Park, an amenity center open to all residents. Similar to Cypress Park, Twenty Mile Park will include a shallow-entry family swimming pool with lap lanes, a dog park, playground, athletic fields, open-aired pavilion and an event lawn. By contrast, the Twenty Mile neighborhoods and park will present an “old-Florida” feel with preserved oak-tree canopies and native flora and fauna.

Clint Thomas, Vice President of Carlton Construction’s Commercial Division, said, “We’re thrilled to be playing a role in developing Nocatee. The amenities are an integral part of these growing and vibrant communities and truly contribute to the exceptional quality of life here.”

Carlton Named No. 4 in Northeast Florida’s “50 Fastest”

Just off the heels of being recognized as one of the “Best Places to Work” in Jacksonville, Carlton Construction placed fourth in the “50 Fastest-Growing Private Sector Companies in Northeast Florida” by the Jacksonville Business Journal (JBJ), a weekly newspaper with a daily digital edition providing business updates to thousands within the business community of our area.

According to the Business Journal: “The class of nominees increased in both size and scope from last year, proving to be very competitive.” To be eligible, the “50 Fastest” companies had to meet the following:

  • be privately held, locally owned and for profit
  • be headquartered in one of Florida’s northeast counties
  • be in business since at least 2011
  • show specific revenue growth and gain since 2012, as verified by the Business Journal’s independent accounting partner

“It’s exciting to be numbered among these dynamic companies that are helping to drive the economy of Northeast Florida,” says Matt Carlton, president of Carlton Construction. “I believe our growth is directly related to the Carlton team’s focus on our mission — our deep commitment to quality, craftsmanship and total client satisfaction for every commercial project and luxury home construction.”

An event honoring the companies was held Thursday, July 16, at the Renaissance World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Florida.

Adds Matt, “This is a team win for us at Carlton. During the last few years we have been laser-focused on achieving big goals we set for ourselves. I’m proud of every member of the Carlton team and their contributions to our efforts.”
